MISSION STATEMENT

SLY PARK HILLS AREA FIRE SAFE COUNCIL

The mission of the Sly Park Hills Area Fire Safe Council is to develop and enable plans for the protection of the people and property of the Sly Park Hills subdivision and adjacent neighborhood areas from the effects of wildfire emergencies. Such plans shall address community education, intergovernmental and private entity cooperation, and specific project action plans. It is intended that this wildfire emergency planning could be applicable to community planning for, and reacting to, other catastrophic events e.g. earthquakes, floods and other emergencies.

OBJECTIVES

2. Develop a community emergency evacuation plan with policies and procedures for the following:

    1. Warning the public of emergency
    2. Identification and labeling of evacuation routes
    3. Identification and establishment of public assembly places
    4. Assistance for seniors and disabled within the community.

3. Identify and prioritize areas where road maintenance is needed to reduce fuel loading, improve visibility and provide potential evacuation routes. Implement projects resulting in:

    2. Developed emergency access and exit roads for the Sly Park Hills subdivision and adjacent neighborhoods.

4. Identify and prioritize roadside and undeveloped areas on both public and private land for hazardous fuel reduction treatments and recommend the types and methods of treatment that would reduce the risk to the community.
